Day 1: Preparing the Soil & Planting the Seeds

 

The area was covered in weeds, so we pulled as many as we could by hand and then used a weed eater to trim the rest.

We purchased several bags of Miracle Grow Soil and dumped them in the area. Then, we built the hills for the seeds and plants by hand. 

This is how it looked at the end of Day 1. You can see 5 rows. Starting from left to right: The first 2 rows and half of the third row are where we planted the squash. The other half of the third row are the strawberries. The fourth row is all cucumber. And the last row are the tomato plants. You can also see one of the potato vines we planted in the background.
